The mountains and meadows around Lake Tahoe are prime territory for a host of spectacular wildflowers. For me, a Tahoe summer is not complete without a bunch of hikes through fields full of purple lupin and orange paint brush. The Tahoe Institute for Natural Science (TINS) is taking advantage of the first wet winter we’ve had in years to showcase the amazing flowers that are sure to bloom this summer by unveiling a new program: The Tahoe Wildflower Big Year! (TWBY)
